...

Custom design at Greg and Kanae's Jewelry and Art is unique in all the world. First Greg Neeley and Kanae Fukuhara are both renowned artists and designers. It is rare for a single jewelry maker to employ two highly skilled artists. Secondly, we work individually and have different but complimentary styles. Greg is more architectural in style while Kanae's art is more organic. Thirdly and most importantly, we design together as a team under the trade mark design name, "Kareg". When you request a design you will have both of us working together as a team to create something incredible just for you.

We have worked hard to not only to give you the best design in the world but to make the entire experience fun and include you as an integral member of our team. Our goal is to help you discover and realize exactly what you want. You may not know what you want. That is where our program comes in powerfully. We will help you discover what you want and you will be there making decisions all along the way.

1  STARTING YOUR CUSTOM ORDER

The first step is to open a custom design order. You can do that by clicking the item button that says "Start Your Custom Design". This will allow you to enter the type of jewelry, metal, stones, etc. This will create a custom design entry on this page specifically for you.  We will update this custom product with pricing and deposit information.

2   CUSTOM DESIGN ORDER DEPOSIT

A deposit of $1,000.00 is required to start your new treasure's creation process. This deposit is applied to your account is fully applicable on the final balance of your order. The deposit is fully transferrable to any and all purchases from our store. Ultimately, your deposit is fully refundable should we be unable to provide you with a design you love within your budget. We love working within budgets and we have been very successful creating the perfect piece for the right price.

3  PERSONAL INTERVIEW

We will confirm by email that we have received your order. Attached to the email will be a questionnaire that helps us learn more about your wishes and preferences. Once we receive your questionnaire we will contact you directly via your preferred method of contact. We can use email, phone, skype, or facetime, any method you wish. We will ask you questions and your opinion and choices for some things we think are important for us to make your jewelry perfect for you. At this point, If you have requested a ring, we will ship you, free of charge, a set of finger sizers that are yours to keep. We have identical sizers in our studio. When you find your size and tell us the numbers on that ring, we will have that identical ring to gauge your size. We will also begin designing for you.

4  SKETCH OF YOUR NEW DESIGN

After the interview we will create a first sketch of our vision for your design. This is a hand drawn pencil illustration in color. We will post it to your item page. We invite you to critique this first sketch strictly. This sketch is the beginning of our communication. We want you to feel no hesitation to pick out every detail that you like or not so much. Discovering what you do not prefer in this first sketch if anything, is very important information for us to move forward. In fact the sketch may inspire you to think of something you had not imagined before. This is the time to become a design team member and help us create.

If there are changes needed for your design, we will create an updated sketch and post it. Again you are invited to critique this design. If it looks good to you and you approve it, you still have not retired from the team. Now we will move into the cutting edge of jewelry design and craft, Computer Aided Design, (CAD).

5  CAD

Now that we have a design to work with, we will create your new design in CAD. This will allow us to post 3D photo realistic images of your exact design in perfect proportion to fit you, on your item page. Every detail will be visible to microscopic scale. We can show you all sides and views with the click of a mouse. We will post some of these on your item page. If needed we can email you more images so you can see every part of your new design. You are still an active member of our design team. We ask you to critique these images as well and if anything is not to your liking, we will make the changes and post the images with your changes. Once you love the CAD we will add the next level of technological magic to the process, 3D Printing. The CAD process also allows us to precisely determine the materials needed to create your design. This gives us all the information we need to give you an exact final price. Our prices never go up. Now it will be possible for us to quote the total price of your project. We will also promise to provide the design as shown in CAD, with the materials chosen to this point for the price we quote. Of course, any changes or additions you request may affect the final price.

6  DOWN PAYMENT

At this point a down payment of 50% of the total price quoted will be required. Your design deposit will be converted to a credit that can be used for the final payment when your item is shipped. You will be able to go to your item page and pay this down payment there.

7  3D PRINTING

This  next step insures your satisfaction even more. We will now print your design in durable, plastic resins and color it to represent the metal and gem choices you have made then ship it to you free of charge. If your design is a ring, the ring will be in your size and wearable. You can see how it fits, how comfortable it is and generally get to know the design before we actually make it. And again you are still an active member of the team, you can still make changes and we encourage you to critique the print. After we receive your feed back from the 3D print, we will make changes if needed and send you another 3D sample of your design. (This 3D sample as well as all the images we may send you and ask you to view are original artworks by Greg and Kanae and are subject to the copyright laws of the United States. No reproductions or copies of these images or samples may be made without the express written consent of Kareg Arts LLC. and Greg Neeley and Kanae Fukuhara.) FINAL PRODUCTION Now that we have worked together with you to create the perfect design for you, we will begin the process of producing the creation in the actual materials you have chosen. We will again 3D print your design parts but this time the printed material will be for casting in precious metals. These parts are identical to the parts we printed for you sample so the finished metal design will be an exact duplicate of the sample but with the full beauty that only precious metals and gems can provide.

We will construct all the pieces of your design in our state of the art studios, hand finish each part and expertly assemble them and set the gems. A final polish and your new design is finished, ready to ship.

8  PHOTOGRAPHY

Your new treasure is finished and we are proud of what we accomplished together. We want a professional record of our new creation. In our professional photography studio your treasure will be photographed from every angle. The best of these photos will be added to your item page.

9  FINAL PAYMENT AND SHIPPING

Your new treasure is done, you have seen the final photos of the finished piece on your item page. The balance owed will be added to your cart. When you check out and the final balance is paid in full, your new custom design will be shipped to you via our special insured courier service, overnight. You will be asked to be present to sign for your package in person. If you are unable to receive it in person we will have it held at a Fed-Ex location nearest you for you to pick up at your convenience.

AND.... WE WAIT IN ANTICIPATION OF YOUR REACTON!

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We will look forward to hearing from you more now than ever. Your still our customer and we will work hard to make sure you are 100% pleased with your purchase. If your design is a ring it is possible that the size is not perfect, even though we went to great lengths to get it right. In this case we allow one resizing free of charge and shipping paid by us both from and back to you. We will send you a prepaid shipping label and if needed proper shipping supplies for the return to us. We will adjust your ring and return it to you as soon as possible. It is part of our customer satisfaction policy.

Sincerely

Greg Neeley and Kanae Fukuhara
